Summary
Dr Malcolm Wright completed his training in the United Kingdom, before moving to Queensland in 1973. He was the Director of Intensive Care at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for eighteen years and since then has worked in various hospitals including as the Deputy Director of the Westmead Hospital in New South Wales, and as an Intensive Care Physician at the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital and Logan Hospital.
Dr Wright held the prestigious position of Director of the Drug Safety and Evaluation Branch for the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Canberra from 1993 to 1995.
Dr Wright was elected to the honour roll of the Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society in June 2007 for his outstanding contribution to the specialty of intensive care medicine and in 2012 was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to intensive care medicine, as a clinician, teacher and administrator, and through advanced medical training programmes in developing countries.
